DECORAS contains polymer and pigment ingredients that are used to produce colored asphalt mixes used in construction of upper layer of the pavement for roads, intersections and roundabouts, walking and cycling paths, parking lots, playing fields and stadiums, parks, museums and ancient sites.
DECORAS is a combination of specially formulated polymers and additives in the amount of 60-75% and pigments in the amount of 25-40%, which is produced in the form of granules under controlled conditions.
DECORAS is added to the hot aggregates in the asphalt plant to melt with the heat of aggregates and completely cover the aggregates.
PACKAGING: Normally packed into sealed bags, weighing 20-25 kg. According to the order and for ease of use, it may be packed into thermo-fusible pre-dosed bags for each batch in the asphalt plant.
STORAGE: Store DECORAS in ambient temperatures between 4 to 45 °C in a ventilated place away from sunlight, heat and moisture. It can be stored up to 12 months in proper conditions.
Direct INTRODUCTION: DECORAS is usually fed into the same place as fillers or asphalt aggregates. It is added manually or mechanically into the pugmill or drum mixer of batch or continuous asphalt plants, to melt and completely cover the aggregates.
TEMPERATURES: generally, 10-15⁰C upper than uncolored asphalt with bitumen. Temperatures for open graded asphalt mixes are slightly lower than those of dense graded mixtures, and it is recommended to be close to the lower limit of the mentioned ranges for open graded colored asphalt.
Plant mixing: 165-185°C
Field Compaction: 135-155°C
MIXING TIME: 20 to 30 seconds longer than
uncolored asphalt with bitumen.
DOSAGE: According on the mix gradation, 4 to 5 weight percent of aggregates is used.

CLIMATE: DECORAS colored asphalt can be used in all weather conditions. It is suitable for regions with medium, high and very high temperatures
